OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE TUESDAY 28TH JUNE,2016. IN JESUS’ NAME

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
TUESDAY 28TH JUNE,2016.

IN JESUS’ NAME

MEMORISE: If you ask any thing in my name I will do it. John 14:14

READ: Philippians 2:9-11
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : Acts 10:1-12:5 and Song of Solomon 2:8-17

MESSAGE
The Name of Jesus is God’s password for answered prayers. There is something very unique about the Name of Jesus. It carries so much power and authority. It is not just a Name like other names; it is a seal of authority that commands results for the children of God.

There are several reasons why the Name of Jesus is very distinct. The moment you put the Name to work, things are bound to yield to your request. At the mention of the Name of Jesus, there is a release of immeasurable miracles. A believer that has an understanding of this will enjoy the boundless riches that the power in the Name of Jesus can perform in the lives of those who commit the Name to action.

“If you ask anything in my name, I will do it” John 14:14

This promise to the apostles was to reassure them that whatever they requested within the will of the Lord would always be granted. The Name of Jesus is the only medium of communication with the Father. At the mention of that Name, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess; Jesus is the door to every breakthrough in life.

Every sinner comes to the Father through Him; He is the door into wealth, health and well-being. The Name of Jesus is the door to protection from all the evils and troubles of life.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10

The Name of Jesus is the door into every rest, because He said and is still saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. Today, I decree into the life of a user of this devotional, there will be rest for you in every area you have experienced trouble in Jesus’ name.

The power in the Name of Jesus can deliver you from any form of sickness, infirmity or problem. Cancer disappears at the mention of the Name of Jesus, the blind receive their sight through the Name. The power in the Name of Jesus can raise whatever is dead in your life, because death has no legal right to take away any child of God prematurely. I decree that in the Name of Jesus, you shall not die but live long to fulfil all that God has planned for you.

For this Name to work for you, you must surrender to the lordship of Jesus. We live in a time when all men should confess Jesus as Lord and submit to His will. The same Name that is capable of doing all that we can ever request is the same Name that will judge the world. A time is coming when it will be too late to submit to the Name.

Let the fear of God and the love of God be your primary motivator for life. Whatever motivates the request you make to God will determines if your prayers will be answered or not. The angels of God also move towards the direction in which the Name is being mentioned in spirit and in truth, so as to receive orders on someone’s behalf.

PRAYER POINT: Jesus, let the power in Your Name set me free.

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE, 2016. ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE, 2016.

ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE

MEMORISE: I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

READ: Isaiah 66:1-5
1 THUS saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Esther 8-10 and Ecclesiastes 11

MESSAGE
Every disciple of Jesus Christ must realize that their bodies have become a living sacrifice of God. This should be the natural response of every spiritually minded individual in appreciation of the grace of salvation in Christ Jesus.

No doubt, God's grace was poured out for our salvation; our response should be to obediently comply with the instructions of the One who had given His life for the remission of our sins.

There is so much deposited in us to be effective weapons in God's hand for this generation, but the problem is that we have to remove those little foxes in our lives. Men and women who have not been purged cannot give acceptable sacrifices unto the Lord.

From the Scriptures, we understand that the reason the offerings of the Levites were not accepted by God was because there were issues they needed to settle with Him. Until we are purified and sanctified, our sacrifices of offering and service in the vineyard will not receive heaven's attention. What are those things or who are those people in your life that have made your life unstable in Christ?

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present age" Titus 2:11-12.

We are to offer our lives in sacrificial worship and service to Him. As vessels in the hand of God, we should no longer centre our thoughts and actions on those things that pertain to this world. We should no longer engage in matters that will divert our attention from eternity. Our God is holy and He expects us to be holy.

For our sacrifices to be acceptable before Him, we have to be like Him in every sphere of our lives. When you are holy, miracles will begin to happen in your life and the power of God will begin to flow in you and through you to other lives. This will enable us to continue the mission of destroying the works of the devil.

Many Christians are unable to access the reward of a new life because they are still tied to the culture of this world. They are still entangled with the ideas, principles and concepts of this world, and this has denied them the opportunity to manifest as children of God. You have to make a deliberate choice to be useful and acceptable before your Maker. Remove everything that has the ability to deprive you of your spiritual stature.

PRAYER POINT: Father, make me a vessel unto honour in Your hands.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE DATE: TUESDAY JUNE 21ST, 2016 TOPIC: REMEMBER ME, O GOD

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
DATE: TUESDAY JUNE 21ST, 2016
TOPIC: REMEMBER ME, O GOD

Memorise
Remember me, O my God concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof. Nehemiah 13:14.

Read: Esther 6:1-10, (KJV) 1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.

4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

5 And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.

6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?

7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,

8 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:

9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delighteth to honour.

10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.

MESSAGE
There are battles to fight here on earth, don’t let anyone ever deceive you that there are no battles. There is nothing as good and pleasant as when you commit all these battles and obstacles into the hand of God. God is always ready to take action when we report all our enemies to Him. There are some people who enjoy carrying our evil acts against the children of God for no reason. Some people just cannot stand you being blessed by the God you serve.

Today’s passage reveals the conspiracy of Human against the anointed of the Lord. I decree that all conspiracies against your progress shall be scattered in Jesus’ name. God needs to always expose your enemies to you so that you can know how to handle them. The king could not sleep because God wanted him to remember someone who had saved his life from conspiracy. When God remembers you, your long years of mourning shall turn joy. When God remembers you, the stagnation of many years ceases in a day. One truth the children of God must continue to remember is that it takes divine remembrance to daily experience the deliverance of God.
One person that enjoyed the remembrance of God was Hannah. For so many years, she lived in barrenness, but her day of remembrance came and the Lord put an end to her years of barrenness. If you want God to remember you in your own situation, there is a role for you to play. You have to call His attention to what you are going through. Mordecai called the attention of Esther to the source of their problem and Esther called the attention of the king and the rest is history. Every closed mouth equals a closed destiny. Don’t allow your mouth to be closed. When Hannah got to Shiloh, she made her petition to God and her request was granted. There is a reader of this devotional, as you call upon the Lord, He will give you permanent rest in Jesus’ name.

A life of holiness is a requirement for anyone who wants to call upon the Lord. If you are living in sin, there is no way God will hear you. You have to surrender your life totally to God, and just like Esther did, fast, pray and take practical steps under the divine guidance of God concerning every challenge you are going through. If a human king could ask for what could be done to the person in whom he had delight in, you can imagine what Jesus will do for you if you seek Him.

Prayer point
Father, please remember me for good.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: MONDAY 20th JUNE,2016 THEME: PREACH THE WORD

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: MONDAY 20th JUNE,2016
THEME: PREACH THE WORD

MEMORISE:
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. II Timothy 4:2

HYMN 13:
1. Wonderful story of love;
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love;
Wake the immortal strain!
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, oh, won’t you believe it?

Chorus:
Wonderful story of love,
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful, wonderful story of love.

READ:
II Timothy 4:1-4
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Esther 1-3, Ecclesiastes 9:13-10:7

MESSAGE:
This is part of the final charge by Apostle Paul to his spiritual son. Timothy needed some courage to fulfil his calling as an apostle, and Paul reaffirmed to him the fact that if he would be a useful evangelist in the hands of God, there was no better time than that moment to make full proof of his calling preaching the undiluted Word of God. Divine utterance of the Word is a tool anyone who desires to have a profitable ministry must have. There are many preachers today who have turned the pulpit to an entertainment platform. You see a lot of sinners feeling very comfortable in such churches because the Word of God has been watered down. The 21st century Church is no longer interested in reproving and rebuking her members, the preacher are after saying only what the members want to hear.

The Word  of God is a hidden truth that is usually human understanding. There are some who swear profusely jumping from  one point to another in the name of preaching, and at the end, when you ask the listeners what they gained; you will be amazed at the kind of response you get. It is the Word of God that we are charged to preach, not the theologies and philosophies of men. The Word of God alone can liberate the sinful soul and bring newness of life those who hear it. It is through the Word of God alone that those living in sin can be reproved of their sins. It is the World that encourages those who are faithful to remain in the faith.

In this when fake teachers and heretic preachers abound, there is the need to reaffirm our commitment to preach the correct doctrines of God. It doesn't  matter how many 'preachers' conjure unscriptural sermons, we have to unsure we counter their heresies with the correct Word  of God. It is the Word of God that determines your place in the scheme of things. The Word of God is forever settled. It does not glow old and you can never improve on it. The Word brings back to life everything that is dead in the lives of people. I want you to embrace the Word like never before, because it is the Word that delivers the benefits of God to you.

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" II Timothy 3:15

God's Word communicates Gods wisdom and peace into your life. The moment you become a doers of the Word of God, you become feared and respected by the devil and his demons.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, let Your Word be active in my life in Jesus name.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE SATURDAY 18TH JUNE, 2016. BE FRUITFUL

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
SATURDAY 18TH JUNE, 2016.

BE FRUITFUL

MEMORISE : And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : Nehemiah 9:1-11:24 and Ecclesiastes 9:1-6

READ : John 15:1-7
1 I AM the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

MESSAGE
In Mark 16:15, Jesus didn't give His disciple a piece of advice but a direct command. This instruction was not without any backing, He promises us His presence even into the world. This is why we need to be bold in carrying out this instruction. We have been anointed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ ( Isaiah 61:1 ).

The greatest of all fruitfulness is the ability to win lost souls to the kingdom of God. There is no achievement that surpasses this. You may have the anointing to raise the dead or carry out signs and wonders, but if the ability to win souls is missing in your calling, then you are not yet fully obedient because this is the greatest of all instruction; to win souls back to the Kingdom.

One of the most fruitful persons in the Bible is John the Baptist, not for the miracles in his ministry but in calling people to repentance. Are you fruitful? Are you winning souls to the Kingdom or you are satisfied seeing unbelievers in their hopelessness?

You are fruitful when you can't allow the chronic fornicator to go without knowing Jesus. You are fruitful when you don't allow that thief to end in hell. You are fruitful when you don't allow that smoker to continue in his sin. You are fruitful when you stop that liar from being a vessel in the hand of the devil.

In the mind of God, there is no sinner without a future and there is no saint without a past. It is God that helps in transforming our lives, yet there is the need for people to bring sinners to the cross so that the flesh can be crucified.

It is a privilege to be called disciples in the vineyard of God. God can get results without us but it pleases Him to include us co-labourers in the vineyard. God wants you to be fruitful. He wants you to do greater works than He did. You cannot afford not to have results to show despite the opportunities and abilities He invested in you.

There are many people going to hell on a daily basis and God wants to use you to deliver them from perdition and eternal condemnation. The only people who will be fruitful in this end time are those who choose to remain and abide in Christ.

From time, God has always taken away those who are not fruitful. Judas was taken away because he did not produce any fruit. This is why you need to allow Christ to specially cultivate you so that you can bear fruit. You must submit to the Word of God and become obedient to His ways. It is not knowledge of the Word that saves but obedience to the Word.

To produce fruit that is profitable to the kingdom of God and relevant to one's spiritual development, one must abide in the source from which all spiritual life emanates. The gospel is for the entire world, hence, we should preach it everywhere we find ourselves.

ACTION POINT :
Look for someone that is not saved in your place of work and begin to share the gospel with him or her.

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE FRIDAY 17TH JUNE, 2016. CARRYING YOUR CROSS

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE
FRIDAY 17TH JUNE, 2016.

CARRYING YOUR CROSS

MEMORIZE: And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:27

READ : Luke 14:25-30
25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

MESSAGE
The cross of Jesus is very effective in cleansing us from all our sins. Jesus instructs that whosoever will be His disciple will have to carry his cross and follow Him. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, every manifested work of the flesh must have been crucified to the cross. You are to be clean from all filthiness of the flesh. You must allow the cross to deliver you from lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride and passion of life.

"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." Galatians 5:24

Carrying your cross is the commencement of a new life and a new journey. It means your old ways of thinking are no longer allowed and you begin to walk in the newness of life. Every resurrected life that is genuine begins with carrying the cross. When believers carry the cross, authentic power from God is released into their lives.

However, the devil paints those who carry the cross as people who are old fashioned and people who follow doctrines that are no longer necessary. This is because he knows the secret behind the cross; he knows that the heredity of Christ is in the cross. He understand that holiness, power and wisdom are in the cross, and he wants believers not to have access to these things. This is one of the reasons why those who have refused to carry the cross are living a defeated life on daily basis; they are under the rule of the devil and so have become slaves to him. Carrying your cross means to follow Jesus all the way. If the 21st century will be potent enough to put devil where it belongs, there is the need for the Church to carry her Cross.
The Cross was what made a public defeat of the devil. If you also want the devil to be publicly defeated in your family, in your career, in your finances, in your church, we all have to carry the cross and follow Jesus.

Those who carry the cross will live. Those who follow Jesus will be delivered in the time of trouble. Self made righteousness cannot earn you a place in the presence of God but the cross will help you fight flesh and sins.

You must seek to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ, you must be willing to commit yourself in total surrender to the Lord. If you want to do great exploits in this world, you will have to deny yourself. Others may, but as a true disciple of Jesus you cannot. Others can be careless but you cannot. You can no longer allow the system of the world and the dictates culture to be the basis upon which you make your decisions. It is the love of Christ in you that becomes your compelling force. Paul had to suffer in order to carry out His mission. Jesus had to die in order for salvation to be possible. Nothing worthy is ever done in God without a sacrifice. I pray for you; the grace you need to follow Jesus shall be available to you in Jesus name.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to carry my cross to the finish line.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE DATE : THURSDAY 16 JUNE 2016 THEME : CEASELESS PRAYER

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

DATE : THURSDAY 16 JUNE 2016

THEME : CEASELESS PRAYER

Memorise :

Pray without ceasing. 1  Thessalonians 5:17

Read : Luke 18:1-8

1 AND he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Message

Every Christian should have a state of mind that can take part in the action of prayer at anytime; there should never be a hindered access to our Heavenly Father.

All through the scriptures, we see the results of those who prayed. Prayer is the foundation of every victorious living. Anyone who will be fruitful, both in life and in ministry, must be able to give priority to prayer. For any project to be successful, it must be backed by prayer. Jesus demonstrated to us that to get the right kind of results, prayer is the key because prayer is a tool that helps in strengthening one's relationship with God. The more time you spend in Gods presence, the more you will act and think like Him. Spending time in the place of prayer will help you align your desires, attitudes, actions and beliefs to suit God's will. It is in the place of prayer that you can establish a deep intimacy and faith in His ability to deliver. It is also in the place of prayer that you can gain access to deeper revelations. The major cause of failure in many people's life is the lack of prayer, it seems they intentionally sleep and allow the devil to deny them of God's promises.

You should never joke with your prayer life; especially since you know that the God you pray to is a prayer answering God. Prayer must not be seen as a religious exercise if you will experience the glory of God.
Ceaseless prayer is also not about vain repetition and ambiguity; you must make yourself clear to God and not assume He knows your problem. Of course He does, but He expects you to open up and let Him know what exactly you want Him to do for you. Without prayer, you cannot receive the attention of heaven because prayer is a spiritual network that links you to heaven before help can be released to you. When you are given to prayer, no weapon of the enemy against your life will prosper because the Lion of the tribe of Judah is at work in you, to defend you and disgrace all your enemies. Daniel was a man of prayers and his prayer life was the source of his strength in God. Through this, he was able to do great exploits in a strange land.

Those who do not pray are always  helpless. They go from place to place looking for prayer agents. No wonder they are always falling victims in the hands of fake prophets. Come boldly to the throne of mercy and seek divine intervention over any given situation in your life and you will experience the awesome power of God in your life.

Key Point :

Certain things will never be received until they are asked for.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : Nehemiah 4:1-6:14 and Ecclesiastes 8:1-9

AUTHOR : Pst E. A ADEBOYE

HYMN 5: OH SPREAD THE TIDING ROUND

Oh, spread the tidings ’round, wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound;
Let every Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound: The Comforter has come!

Chorus:
The Comforter has come,
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n,
The Lord’s dear promise giv’n;
Oh, spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found,
The Comforter has come!

2. The long, long night is past, the morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!

Chorus:

3. Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv’rance brings;
And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings:
The Comforter has come!

Chorus:

4. O boundless love divine! how shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine!
The Comforter has come!

Chorus.

GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT

MEMORISE: But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6

READ : 1 Timothy 6:6-11
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : Nehemiah 1-3 and Ecclesiastes 7:19-29

MESSAGE
The moment a person makes up his mind to focus his passion and life on seeking after the things of God, he becomes very content with life. There are lots of people who are not enjoying their lives because they are being consumed with the mundane things of this world. As a child of God, your focus and attention should centre on the Word of God which will help you live life with a sense of fulfilment.

It is not the abundance of what you have that determines the joy you get in life. I have been privileged to get close to many wealthy and influential people, and I have concluded that the best kind of life is a life of simplicity. There are people, who focus on gaining worldly possessions, but those who know the essence of life will focus on things of the spirit and they will not allow the lust of this world to consume their  hearts.

"I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Philippians 4:12

Paul had learnt how to be content in poverty and in wealth. This should also be the life of every child of God, because it is only in Christ that one understands the purpose of all things. Paul learnt how to be poor without complaining about his circumstances. He knew how to go about his life in situations of want knowing that God was in charge of his life.

It is no news that the greatest problem of man is greed; it is also the major cause of underdevelopment in many nations, as those that have been entrusted with resources are continually greedily trying to acquire more money. As believers, we must know how to posses money without money possessing us. We should not follow the  examples of those who have allowed money to become an idol in their lives.

Anytime we are in need, we should call on God; it is only Jesus Christ who gives strength to overcome the despair and discouragement of such moments, and any time we are in wealth, we need Christ to help us exercise full control over the wealth.

There is nothing we go through that we don't have the power to endure because our strength is of the Lord. We must not become obsessed with the gains of this world at the expense of our souls, especially since it is not possession that brings happiness. Christ is the source of happiness; therefore, it is the foundation that we have in Him that determine the extent of our commitment in life.

We must not allow the process of getting rich deny us the ultimate satisfaction and joy in Christ Jesus. We should not become spiritually bankrupt because we are on a quest to get rich. We should not stray away from the Faith because we want money. God is more than able to supply all our needs as we put our trust in Him and follow His instructions for our lives.

PRAYER POINT:

MIGHTY TO SAVE.

MEMORISE : If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. DANIEL 3 : 17

READ : DANIEL 3 : 20 - 25 :
20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego.
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

MESSAGE
It is a precious things to know the God you serve. The Almighty God is mighty to save. They that know their God shall be strong and do exploits. The three Hebrew boys were able to stand before the King and the religious leaders of their time to declare the sovereignty of the Almighty God because they knew Him well.

From the story in today's Bible reading, it is evident that there are tremendous benefits in knowing the God you serve. The knowledge of the boys delivered them from the destruction of the King. The presence of God provided a divine seal of approval that these were not jokers, but genuine children of God. The knowledge of God produces strength and courage, knowing well that there is nothing that confronts you in life that is beyond God. These boys did not serve God only because He save them; they serve Him majorly because of who they knew Him to be. There are many people who are only serving God as long as things are happening in their best interests.

God does not like enemies rejoicing over His children. Every time there is a situation that might result in the enemy rejoicing over the children of God, He will step in to show to the world that He is mighty to save. This is why I pity those who mess with the anointed of the Lord. There are two people to fear in the world: God and the man that fears God. The moment you are genuine child of God, all your enemies automatically become God's enemies. Nobody can fight God and win, the moment God takes over the battles of your life, you can confidently go to sleep with your two eyes closed.

Are you like Shedrack, Meshach and Abednego? Have you made up your mind that no amount of threat made towards you in your place of work will make you compromise your faith? I want to congratulate you, because if you don't bow, you are not going to burn. Don't ever risk your glorious destiny in God by worshipping anything that represents Nebuchadnezzar. Your God is greater and has full control over all kings and powers. He has the power to unseat anyone making life difficult for you. I decree that everyone who wants you to bow to them at the detriment of your faith in God will be removed from their positions without prior notice in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINT :
Father, from today, deliver me from those that are stronger than me in Jesus name.

OPEN HEAVENS BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

SOLDIERS OF THE CROSS 1

MEMORISE: Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 2:3

Read : 2 Timothy 2:1-7
1 THOU therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

MESSAGE
One of my sons once said 'for every new level there is a new devil'. This is very correct in the life of every believer. I always tell my children that if they are not relevant in the scheme of things, they cannot be a target to the devil. But, the moment you make up your mind to obey God, to love God and to serve Him, you become a target for the enemies, both within and without.

As a soldier of the Cross, you do not fight your battles with physical weapons because it is the nature of a battle that will determine your arsenal of weapons. As a good soldier of the Cross, you must be able to endure hardness in the race to heaven. You have to fight lawfully and follow those rules which characterise a righteous person.

There are many factors attacking the Christian faith today. We cannot just continue to be passive; there is the need to defend the Christian faith against modern and post-modern ideologies, so that we can all lay hold of eternal life. Any Christian who is timid and fearful cannot carry out the struggles of spiritual warfare.

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" Ephesians 6:11.

Those who were before us were able to stand strong and give a reason for the hope they had in Christ Jesus, we cannot but do the same. Timothy as an evangelist, did not waste any opportunity, he constantly stood before men and confessed his faith in Christ.

Jesus Christ our master stood before Pontius Pilate and defended his Sonship and Kingship. One of the ways to be a good soldier of the cross is to appreciate the works of the cross and live our lives to reflect the sacrifices made by Jesus. This we can achieve when we begin to live a life of purity and godly behaviour.

We must follow the truth that has been received in Christ. The truth that set you free and gave you liberty must be passed to others, so that they can experience what you experienced. This is why our pastors need to go back to the ancient landmarks of sound apostolic teaching. There is a need for urgency on the part of the clergy to feed their flocks with the undiluted Word of life.

Hardship will come, Satan will launch all forms of attack against preaching of the gospel of Jesus, yet we must not allow these to divert our focus from our primary assignment as soldiers of the cross.

Also, don't allow the affairs of this world to make you a victim in the battles of life. As a messenger of Jesus, you must do all that is within your power to please the owner of your life and be committed to the work of the Kingdom. It is my prayer that your enemies will miss whenever they target you in Jesus' name.

ACTION POINT:
Put in the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
